Alabama lore has this game as the one that gave the team the name CRIMSON TIDE. The story goes that Alabama was a heavy UNDERDOG vs Auburn and that the game was played in heavy rain. We have found ZERO evidence that the game was played in ANY rain. None of the papers from that era that we have read mention anything about rain. Auburn was a 3 to 1 favorite that day based on the fact that back in October Auburn lost to Sewanee in a close game. Sewanee played Alabama and beat them at home by 50 points.
AU and UA will not play again until 1948
